The Old Wooden Fence

In 2002, Steve Roberts produced his first album entitled The Old Wooden Fence. This solo acoustic CD consisted of 14 original songs with vocals, acoustic guitar and harmonica. The tunes cover a wide range of topics, including nature, self-improvement, and reflections during a period of uneasiness and uncertainty, both domestically and abroad.

The CD's title song was inspired by an aging wooden fence on Steve's farm. Two songs about mushrooms on this recording turned out to be the favorites among many, including those who have little or no interest in mushrooms. This inspired Steve's next CD, Mushroom World, with a consistent musical theme revolving around mushrooms and mushroom hunting.
